In the interview with The Punch, the actress spoke about how she delved into acting, and her sexual harassment experience in the industry.
Excerpts from the interview:
Acting
I decided to be an actress in order to use movies as a medium to impact the society. I see acting as a tool to create positive change in society.
I have always had a deep passion for acting since I was a child. I loved watching actors expressing their passion on television. However, I kept it to myself because I didn’t want anyone to dampen my passion and zeal for it and because of the challenges involved.
Challenges
When I started out, I had different crazy experiences. I recall that between 2010 and 2011, I approached a top actor in the industry and told him about my passion for acting. He simply said he would have sex with me.
I lost interest in acting as a result of what he said back then. However, when I relocated to the United States of America, I realised that my talent would make a way for me without unnecessary sexual requests. In Nigeria, one would have to work hard, make money and produce one’s movie. That was how I raised funds for my new movie.Attention
